The North Wales Little Tern Group has been established to help protect the last Little Tern colony in Wales, in partnership with Denbighshire Countryside Service. By raising awareness about the Little Terns in North Wales and our work to save them, we hope the local community will support our efforts. This group was set up in late 2015 as there was a need to increase volunteer participation in the project and also to help access funding sources where the countryside service were not able to. Several years later the group now have over 200 members and a thriving series of events during the season for willing volunteers to get involved with.
Below is a video created in 2018 about the life-cycle of the Little Terns at Gronant and a live feed to the Facebook page of the group describing the latest happenings.
***Coronavirus update*** With the relaxing of travel restrictions people can again visit the Little Tern colony at Gronant. With reduced volunteer involvement right now we ask that people don't go close to the colony but to give the birds the space they need. Many thanks.
